Job Summary
The Experienced Heavy Equipment Finish Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment on a construction jobsite in a safe manner. They will stay current on GPS Grade Control Systems, ensuring their ability to effectively and efficiently operate all necessary equipment. The Experienced Heavy Equipment Finish Operator must complete pre‑start checks, assist with fluid checks, secure the equipment, clean, and perform other duties as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company policy, as well as manufacturer’s guidelines
Performing daily maintenance and safety checks along with routine maintenance on equipment and machines
May operate trucks to transport equipment to and from job sites as required
Responsible for reporting problems and malfunctioning equipment to supervisor and/or shop foreman
Ability to correctly operate grade control technology
Cleaning equipment as required
Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment, secure job site and equipment at the end of each day
Foster civil interactions and relationships in the workplace
Uphold acceptable attendance
Is a productive team member that supports the team by traveling and assisting where needed
Comply with all applicable safety, environment, health and waste management policies and procedures
Ability to handle stress while adhering to the code of conduct and company safety policy

Working Conditions / Physical Demands
Climb ladder 8‑10 feet to access equipment operating station
Keep equipment moving along specified path to ensure equipment is processing material to required specifications
Remove excess built‑up material at the end of shift using a scraper and shovel; periodically, the Equipment Operator may need to use a jack or chipping hammers
Working outdoors in all types of weather and conditions
Job Requirements and Education
Over 18 years of age
Eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; Class A CDL is preferred
Complete and pass pre‑employment testing, including a drug screen and physical
High school education or GED equivalent
Preferred Experience
At least 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment finish operator.
