About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to lead client-facing fabrication and installation projects from kickoff through final delivery. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, a strong cross‑functional leader, and someone who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment. This role ensures that every project is executed on schedule, on budget, and with exceptional attention to design intent and build quality.
Before You Go Any Further so We Do Not Waste Each Others Time You must have at least 3 years in an industry related to SFDS such as Fabrication, Event, Art Fabrication, Retail windows (look at our website if you have not done anything that is on our website then you are not qualified for this position). Project management is an art and unless you have done this specific dance you are not what I need. If you have done this dance then I want to meet you!
What You’ll Do Client & Project Leadership
Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
Translate awarded bids into actionable production plans, schedules, and deliverables.
Lead internal project kickoff meetings and distribute all supporting documentation.
Provide consistent, professional communication with clients, including regular updates, progress photos, and reports.
Conduct client walkthroughs during fabrication, tech‑ups, and installs as required.
Clearly define and communicate scope details (e.g., delivery vs. install, flats vs. skins, etc.).
Production Oversight
Oversee shop‑floor fabrication progress to ensure all elements meet design intent and client expectations.
Monitor and update production trackers to maintain alignment across departments.
Partner closely with the Assistant Project Manager (APM) on documentation and progress reporting.
Manage internal deadlines and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Budgeting, Tracking & Reporting
Review and approve running project costs.
Ensure all labor and material expenses are accurately tracked throughout the project.
Complete formal job closeout reporting within two weeks of project completion.
Consolidate data from material logs (PRL), install labor, office administration reports, and production trackers.
Provide accurate reporting that supports company KPIs and post‑mortem analysis.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Mentor and support the APM and Designers assigned to your projects.
Maintain clarity, accountability, and communication across all project teams.
Work collaboratively with Team Leads, Procurement, and Operations to support successful project execution.

Projects delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Zero avoidable overtime from planning or oversight errors
High client satisfaction with clear, proactive communication
Accurate and timely cost tracking and job closeout reporting
Strong team alignment and well‑supported cross‑department workflows
Required Qualifications
3+ years of project management experience (fabrication, production, events, construction, or similar industry preferred)
Proven experience managing client relationships and leading cross‑functional teams
Strong scheduling, documentation, and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret build drawings, estimates, and scopes of work
Proficiency with project management and tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Monday, Asana, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on‑site and oversee active production environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with scenic fabrication, experiential builds, or technical project delivery
Understanding of material workflows, fabrication processes, and production timelines
Ability to anticipate risks and problem‑solve quickly in a dynamic environment
Leadership experience mentoring junior team members
