Mortgage Underwriter Location: Melville, NY Schedule:
Full-time- In Office | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Compensation:
Base salary up to $90,000 + bonus eligibility
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to support increased loan volume across agency and Non-QM products. This role requires strong Encompass experience, the ability to underwrite efficiently, and a commitment to producing clean, thorough files across multiple investors.
Responsibilities:
Underwrite mortgage loan files with accuracy and efficiency
Ensure files are clean, complete, and compliant with investor guidelines
Review and underwrite FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, DSCR loans, and other Non-QM Products
Work across multiple investors and programs
Collaborate with operations and underwriting leadership to support pipeline flow
Maintain quality standards while managing volume
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience At least 2 years underwriting in Encompass
Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR loans
Multi-investor underwriting experience
Ability to Manually underwrite loans
Helpful but not required Experience:
RTO loans
Ground-up construction
Fix & flip
