Accounting Controller (Full-Time)
Job Summary
The Accounting Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily accounting operations for multi-location operations. This role ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations while supporting management across multiple outlets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Given several future business considerations, the company is seeking a credentialed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to support long-term financial strategy, growth, and multi-location operations oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple locations, including vendor and supplier invoices
Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and daily sales reports for multiple locations
Perform cash, credit card, and POS reconciliations
Assist with month‑end and year‑end close for multi‑unit operations
Maintain accurate financial records and organized documentation
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including location‑level P&L statements, as requested by management
Prepare 1099 filings and compliance for vendors and contractors
Assist with payroll processing, tip reporting, and labor‑related accounting
Cash flow analysis and management for multi‑location operations
Direct management of banking relationships
Manage insurance policy negotiations and procurement
Ensure consistency and compliance with company accounting policies across all locations
Support audits and respond to internal and external accounting inquiries
Communicate with location managers regarding discrepancies or financial issues
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; must be licensed and in good standing with the applicable State Board of Accountancy
Ability to provide CPA license verification upon request and maintain licensure in compliance with state continuing professional education (CPE) requirements
Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience; multi‑location or hospitality experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and hospitality financial operations
Experience with accounting software, POS systems, and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Compensation
Salary range starts at $85,000 annually
Compensation is negotiable based on experience, credentials, and CPA status
Work Schedule
Full‑time position
Monday through Friday, with flexibility required during month‑end and year‑end close
