Carlisle Location: Carlisle and across Cumbria Salary: £38,000 – £44,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience Contract: Permanent, Full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime and call-out rota NXT Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established and growing engineering business as they expand their presence across Cumbria. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to appoint an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served engineer who enjoys working on commercial projects, values high standards of workmanship, and wants to be part of a business that invests in its people through training, development, and long-term progression. The role You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across a range of commercial sites. The role is predominantly field based and will involve both planned and reactive work, including participation in an out-of-hours call rota. Key responsibilities Fault finding on split, multi-split, and VRV / VRF air conditioning systems, including cold room applications Servicing and planned maintenance of air conditioning systems across commercial buildings Commissioning of split, multi-split, and VRV / VRF systems Service, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of heat recovery ventilation systems Responding to emergency and unplanned breakdowns as part of the on-call rota Completing work to a high standard while maintaining health and safety compliance About you Time-served and fully qualified Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Engineer Relevant qualifications to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning City & Guilds 2079-1 Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning installations Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Good written and verbal communication skills Full UK driving licence CSCS card preferred What’s on offer Salary between £38,000 and £44,000 depending on experience and qualifications Regular overtime available, paid at premium rates Company vehicle, uniform, and specialist tools provided Company mobile phone and smart device 30 days holiday per year including bank holidays Pension contributions Ongoing manufacturer training and skills development A stable, supportive employer with long-term opportunities as the business continues to grow in Cumbria If you’re an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer looking to join a growing business with a strong reputation and a commitment to development, we’d love to hear from you.
