Students Pastor

The mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley is to win people to Jesus Christ, train believers to become disciples, and send disciples to impact the world. The Students Ministry supports the mission of CCV by shaping students to become Christ-centered difference makers. The Students Pastor will assist pastoring Junior and Senior High students through recruiting, training, and retaining youth coaches, as well as implementing Junior and Senior High school programs and events. The Students Pastor will also assist in growing the campus in all areas numerically such as attendance, coaches, and baptisms. Essential Job Functions

Execute Junior and Senior High events and programs Cast the overall CCV & Students Ministry vision with parents and volunteers Provide pastoral care for families and coaches Recruit, train, and retain volunteers for all weekend areas and events Develop and maintain school campus involvement Follow up with first time students Collect and report accurate weekly attendance according to established standards and deadlines Work with the team to plan and execute various church-wide events such as Kick off events, Easter, and Christmas Eve Qualifications

Education and Experience 2 years minimum experience leading a ministry of youth and volunteers. Degree in Youth Ministry preferred, however training or proven experience in the field will be considered. Athletic team experience is helpful. Software and technology skills a bonus. The Children’s Pastor or Children’s Ministry Director leads a vibrant and engaging ministry for children from birth through 6th grade. The role partners with families to nurture lifelong faith in Jesus Christ through age‑appropriate teaching, relational discipleship, dynamic outreach, and meaningful acts of service within the local community. With a strong emphasis on outreach ministry, creative worship experiences, and family‑centered events this leader helps children and families take next steps toward connection, growth, and service in Christ. This role is a key contributor to the broader mission of Grace Life, working collaboratively with church staff and ministries to foster unity across generations. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of Sunday and mid‑week children’s ministry, including early childhood, elementary, and pre‑teen environments. Design and lead a high‑energy, age‑appropriate Kids Church worship experience that helps children encounter God through music, Scripture, media, and interaction. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually rich experience for all children. Identify, train, and support a growing team of volunteers who serve in children’s ministry. Empower and equip volunteers to lead with excellence, warmth, and consistency. Cultivate a culture of encouragement, teamwork, and spiritual maturity among leaders. Schedule volunteers and provide clear communication, support, and appreciation. Lead efforts to engage children and families beyond the walls of the church, building bridges to the broader community. Develop creative outreach strategies that meet families where they are—whether through sports, seasonal events, service opportunities, or partnerships with local schools and organizations. Inspire the broader church through visible, invitational, and outward‑facing children’s ministry efforts that model hospitality, creativity, and community engagement. Plan and lead family‑friendly events (e.g., Fall Fest, family worship nights, Christmas outreach, parenting workshops) that build a connection between the church and home. Create consistent engagement opportunities with families in the church, childcare, and the community to build relationships, trust, and partnership in discipleship. Provide tools and resources for parents as the primary disciplers in the home. Ensure safety policies and background checks are updated and strictly followed. Maintain excellent communication with parents and volunteers through regular emails, social media, and in‑person interactions. Manage ministry budget and track attendance and engagement data to guide future planning. Serve as a unified member of the Grace Life Staff Team, actively participating in staff meetings, planning sessions, and church‑wide events. Collaborate with other ministry leaders to ensure alignment, shared vision, and a spirit of partnership across generations and departments. Encourage children and families to engage in the life of the whole church, fostering intergenerational connection and belonging. Qualifications Growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Grace Life Church and the Church of the Nazarene. Passion for reaching and discipling children and partnering with families. Proven ability to lead teams, plan events, and communicate clearly and graciously. Previous ministry or teaching experience with children strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field preferred. Position Overview: Pastor of Care and Contemplation Ministries. Oversees St. Luke’s efforts to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation and community with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Includes care groups, support groups, worship experiences, visitation, prayer, and other opportunities. Responsibilities: Evaluate and shape a comprehensive vision for Care Ministry and Contemplation Ministries; strengthen robust ministries such as bereavement, elder care, visitation; develop systems for care and data tracking; provide regular care touchpoints; integrate care ministry with broader congregational priorities; recruit, train, and develop care team members; oversee pastoral visitation, funerals, and grief support; manage ministry budget; participate in worship services; maintain communication with volunteers and parents; uphold safety policies and background checks; collaborate with other ministries; ensure inclusive approach to care and contemplation; facilitate worship services and special events. Qualifications: Passion for the Christian faith, ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church, experience managing a department with multiple employees, clinical pastoral education, inclusive theology, proficiency in technology, record of successful ministry, and ability to lead a ministry team with excellence.
