Salary Range: $60,000-$76,500
Flexible scheduling available; position is primarily office‑based in Wichita.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the Kansas Foster Care Program, including planning, organizing, administering, monitoring, and reporting.
Supervise all foster care staff (Foster Care Workers, Family Support Workers), provide orientation to new employees, and conduct daily supervision.
Provide training, evaluate staff, and consult as needed.
Recommend hiring for Family Services staff after completing recruiting, screening, and reference checks.
Provide direct services to children referred for foster home and adoption services.
Serve as the main contact for outside agencies regarding service delivery and contract monitoring.
Write proposed policies for the Foster Home Program in conjunction with the management team.
Assist in maintaining employee files and submit-new employee information to KDHE.
Ensure scheduling and conducting of PS‑MAP classes, licensing, re‑licensing, and training requirements.
Assist in developing and conducting parent support group meetings.
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in social work or a related Human Services field, one year of experience in child‑placing services, and BSRB licensure (LMSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LMHC acceptable).
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW), LBSW licensure and 2+ years of experience may substitute for a Master’s degree.
2+ years’ experience working with children and/or families within a social welfare system.
One‑year supervisory experience required; lead position experience may substitute.
Ability to work under stressful situations, knowledge of community resources, computer literate, and willing to obtain CPR, First‑Aid, Team, and Basic Health Needs certification during probation.
Reliable vehicle and ability to work irregular hours, including overtime.
Must meet Eckerd’s Auto Insurance requirements for business driving.
Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug‑Free Workplace policy.

About Our Program Eckerd Connects’ Foster Care is an approach that caters to the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and youth in supportive family settings until a natural family reunion or permanent placement through adoption. All children receive an individualized package of wrap‑around services including home‑based therapy, educational support, advocacy, psychiatric linkages, and daily instruction in basic living and social skills.
