Minimum Starting Salary: $145,000
Duties And Responsibilities
The Center Director reports to the Regional Director of Operations and is a salaried, exempt position. The Center Director plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center. These objectives are to prepare young, disadvantaged youth for useful employment by providing comprehensive residential training, educational and vocational training, and positive paths through personal example, understanding, and patience by a combined effort of all staff. Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient and effective student training program. Responsible for the center meeting established goals and objectives and maintaining 100% OBS. The Center Director builds a continuing relationship with community leaders and social, religious, civic, and service organizations. Serves on state and local workforce investment boards and youth councils. Fosters an atmosphere that will encourage high employee morale and result in the highest standards of performance and staff retention. Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters. Keeps the Regional Director informed on all matters sufficient to warrant attention. Responsible for the safe operation of the center and also the safety of the students.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required. Prefer Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years' experience in Program Management and direction. Experience working with youth. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred. Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to establish a rapport and relate effectively with students and direct and inspire staff. Must possess the physical and mental toughness to withstand long hours required. Recognize socioeconomic problems and possess the ability to work on these. Ability to withstand pressure and frustration. Knowledge of educational programs, including both academic and vocational training, contract administration, and fiscal analysis. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.
