Patient Care Technician – Health Unit Coordinator (Nights)
Location Baylor, Scott & White All Saints Medical Center, Ft. Worth
Specialty/Unit Transplant
Shift / Schedule Full‑time nights, 3 12‑hour shifts per week, rotating weekends
Job Summary The Patient Care Technician – Health Unit Coordinator performs clerical and patient care duties under supervision of a licensed nurse. Duties include collecting patient data, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, maintaining records, and supporting nursing staff.
Essential Functions
Collects and records patient data, vital signs, nutrition intake, and output; performs blood glucose monitoring.
Performs routine urinary catheter care and collects and transports specimens.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, responding to call lights, and may be assigned as sitter for patients needing constant observation.
Completes and maintains unit records and files; prepares reports, purchase orders, and memos.
Greets visitors, manages telephone communications, tracks call light response time, assigns phone and location devices.
Runs errands, picks up supplies, transports patients, and maintains inventory, requisitions, and supplies.
Performs non‑medical patient care support duties such as making coffee, transporting patients, and distributing water, ice and blankets.
Cleans patient bedside units, nursing areas, and equipment; attends in‑services, unit meetings, and conferences.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
Certification/License: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
