Job Details ChristianaCare’s Center for Surgical Optimization at Wilmington is seeking a

Full Time

Medical Assistant II. The role supports patients from decision to surgery to the day of surgery, managing comorbidities, and providing education for best post‑surgery outcomes.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday: 7:30 am to 4 pm.

Will be required to work at satellite locations in Newark, when applicable.

No weekends or holidays.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist clinicians in patient examination and treatment, promoting patient satisfaction.

Collaborate with physicians, patients, and interdepartmental staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery and fiscal management.

Greet and support patients, record vitals, and perform point‑of‑care testing, venipuncture, ECG, and specimen collection.

Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, perform quality control on POCT equipment, and complete patient‑specific paperwork.

Handle patient call backs, schedule tests, and perform daily operational activities.

Coordinate patient care activities with insurance companies, care managers, and physician office staff to minimize financial risk and maximize patient care delivery.

Education Requirements

High School Graduate or GED.

Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.

BLS certification.

At least 2 years of progressively responsible clinical administrative experience.

2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant.

Associate degree in business/Medical related field preferred.

Previous insurance or third‑party experience preferred.
