Job Description
May register, order, and accession pathology specimens into computer systems.
Operates and maintains equipment used for embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping specimens.
May include transport of hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area; employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling hazardous waste) and refresher training to include proper handling and transport of hazardous waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment.
May act as a preceptor for new employees and histology students/interns while providing leadership and mentoring to histotechnicians, histotechnologists, and laboratory support staff.
Performs quality control testing, equipment maintenance, identifies problems affecting test performance or reporting, and troubleshoots issues.
Qualification Requirements Associate (Required), Bachelor's Clinical Laboratory Technician - Histotechnologist (TC‑HISTO) - Accredited Issuing Body, Histotechnologist (HTLASCP) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pay Range $23.71 - $44.09
