Job Description
Registers, orders, and accessions pathology specimens into computer systems.
Performs specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special histologic staining, frozen sectioning, cover slipping, and handling of irreplaceable tissue, surgical, and body fluid specimens.
Prepares specimens for research requests and transports specimens to/from collection sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.
May perform special staining on tissues as needed, maintaining solutions and documenting quality control.
Adheres to safety requirements and appropriately handles and disposes of chemicals.
Qualification Requirements
High School Grad or Equiv (Required)
Clinical Laboratory Technician – Histotechnologist (TC‑HISTO) – Accredited Issuing Body
Histotechnician (HTASCP) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTASCP) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pay Range $21.56 - $40.09
