Overview
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am, 3–12‑hour shifts
Facility: Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center
Location: Aurora, IL 60506
Sign‑on bonus: Up to $10,000.00
Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Provides guidance and patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. Communicates with the physician regarding changes in the patient’s clinical condition, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to clinical changes and treatment responses. Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations, reporting of child/adult abuse, and confidentiality.
2–3 years acute nursing experience strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain thereafter.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain thereafter.
Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintain thereafter.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements
Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain thereafter.
EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 & 2 within 6 months of hire.
Non‑OB facilities: NRP certificate within 90 days of hire and maintain thereafter.
Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire; TNCC preferred for non‑trauma facilities.

Pay Transparency Mercy Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Estimated starting compensation: $35.35 to $53.58 per hour, dependent on skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
