Job Description Join a dynamic team responsible for designing, manufacturing, and distributing industrial material handling equipment and systems, including custom lift assists, conveyors, and automation solutions tailored for the Automotive and Appliance industries.
Responsibilities
Design custom lift assists and fixtures, focusing on bespoke solutions as there is no standard product line.
Spend 80% of your time on mechanical design using SolidWorks and 20% on hands‑on testing.
Assist with customer buyoffs, ensuring equipment functionality before it is shipped to the customer's facility.
Essential Skills
SolidWorks design experience is a must‑have.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical design engineering experience with custom equipment/machinery for Level 2 position.
Minimum 5 years of mechanical design engineering experience with custom equipment/machinery for Level 3 position.
Experience in designing fixtures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Customer‑facing experience is a huge plus.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
Experience with material‑handling equipment, fixture design, FEA, and custom equipment.
Outgoing and sociable personality for effective customer interactions and team collaboration.
Work Environment The position can be based in either Dublin, OH, or Bellefontaine, OH. Candidates based in Dublin may need to make occasional day trips to Bellefontaine, approximately once per month. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design of completely custom equipment, allowing for creativity and variance in design. The work environment encourages collaboration and customer engagement, providing a platform for professional growth in a supportive and innovative setting.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellefontaine, OH.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.53 - $45.67/hr.
