Civil Engineer Project Manager – Public Works
Interwest Consulting Group, founded in 2002, is a leading municipal consulting firm delivering public works, building and safety, planning, engineering, and real estate acquisition services throughout the Western United States. We currently have over 400 employees and are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our Public Works Group.
Responsibilities
Manage public works projects, including client liaison, agency coordination, scheduling, and budget.
Lead project teams comprising multi‑disciplined technical staff.
Serve as liaison between city staff and other technical groups within or outside the company.
Make presentations before clients, city councils, boards, and commissions.
Prepare engineering project proposals and task orders, determining scope, schedule, and fees.
Prepare City Council Staff Reports and other reporting documents.
Recommend, develop, and implement project programs, procedures, and policies.
Provide public outreach support, prepare presentations, and participate in public workshops.
Familiarize with local, state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project management.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
Strong customer‑service orientation toward the public, development community, and city government staff.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in managing schedules, scope, budgets, and project development teams to deliver quality assignments on time and within budget.
Ability to prepare, read, and interpret engineering reports and plans, organize and coordinate engineering drawings, plans, and estimates, and perform or coordinate design work of street and underground utility improvements.
Ability to function independently on project management and technical matters.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
