We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Surveyors and Crew Chiefs to add to our team, to lead field survey operations for heavy civil infrastructure (highway/bridge) and energy projects around the US. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Surveyor with at least 3 years in construction survey, strong leadership capabilities, knowledge in dimensional control, industrial measurement, and a desire to grow their career. You will play an integral role in establishing and maintaining methods for safe, accurate, and efficient Survey Field Operations, essential to ensuring accuracy in the field for construction. Full Time District Overview

Kiewit's Central District operates in the central and south-central regions of the United States, building heavy civil and transportation projects including highways, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams and tunnels. With one of the largest equipment fleets in the region, we can mobilize to any location as a full-service construction team capable of self-performing mass grading, drainage, bridge construction, aggregate production, paving, rail and utility construction. Location

We are looking for Survey Crew Chiefs to support projects around the United States. The team may support projects in CO, MT, WY, NM, ND, SD, NE, KS, MO, IA, and MN. The role requires willingness to travel to project sites as needed and visit the district office in Lone Tree, Colorado occasionally for training and meetings. When assigned to a project site, we provide per diem and trips home. Responsibilities

Implement project survey plans, according to instruction. Lead Field Survey Operations: manage daily activities of survey crews conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys. Operate advanced equipment: use GPS, robotic total stations, 3D laser scanners, and data collectors to acquire high-precision measurements. Use CAD proficiently (AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Microstation) to convert drawings into Trimble Business Center. Interpret plans & legal documents: read and apply engineering drawings, plats, deeds, and construction documents to guide fieldwork, maintain control network, and work within tight tolerances. Ensure data integrity: review and validate field data for accuracy and completeness before submission to project teams; maintain accurate field notes and documentation. Coordinate with project teams: communicate effectively with superintendents, field crews, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables. Maintain safety & compliance: uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications

Must be willing to work 50-60 hours per week, including weekends (overtime is paid). 4+ years of field construction survey experience, performing dimensional control, industrial measurements, and leading field surveys. Preference for experience with heavy civil highway, bridge construction, power plants, water, and tunneling projects. Proficiency with Trimble Access/Business preferred, or other similar systems (Leica or Topcon). Strong understanding of construction staking, boundary analysis, and control networks; passion for details and experience running instruments. Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Microstation) and GIS platforms preferred. LSIT or PLS certification is a plus; if not, willingness to obtain certifications with Kiewit support. Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally. Accustomed to outdoor fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions. Physical ability to lift equipment and perform manual tasks. Strong communication skills, strong work ethic, commitment to safety and quality. Other Requirements
