Brunswick's Special Education Department seeks a long‑term substitute education technician to join our Kate Furbish Elementary team. Students in our programs have a wide variety of academic, functional, and developmental needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.
Successful candidates will be able to closely collaborate with team members to manage students’ programs, demonstrate the creativity and flexibility necessary to support students’ challenging behaviors, support students in the regular and special education settings (virtual or in person) in small groups or 1:1, implement students’ IEPs and behavior plans, and support students’ unique needs as appropriate. Successful candidates will also provide support on Special Education transportation. The position is long‑term, but could end at any time based upon student need or administrative direction.
Responsibilities
Closely collaborate with team members to manage students’ programs
Demonstrate creativity and flexibility to support students’ challenging behaviors
Support students in regular and special education settings, virtual or in person, in small groups or 1:1
Implement students’ IEPs and behavior plans
Support students’ unique needs as appropriate
Provide support on special education transportation
Qualifications
Minimum 60 college credits
Maine Criminal History Records Check
