Long Term Sub - 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher

Geneseo Central School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic long-term substitute (LTS) teacher to join our 3rd grade consultant teacher classroom. This classroom follows an inclusive model, with general education and special education teachers collaborating to meet the diverse needs of all students. The substitute teacher will work closely with the special education teacher to maintain continuity of learning, foster a positive classroom environment, and adapt instruction to support all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the consultant teacher to deliver engaging and differentiated instruction aligned with the curriculum
Support students' individual learning needs, including those with IEPs or 504 plans
Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development
Implement classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school staff to ensure student progress
Attend meetings, if required, to support student learning (e.g., team meetings, IEP reviews)
Maintain accurate attendance and grading records during the assignment
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
Valid NYS teaching certification
Experience in co‑teaching or working in inclusive classroom settings
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students
