Mechanical Engineer/Designer
Located in Tampa, FL (Onsite). This is not a remote or hybrid position.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electro‑mechanical equipment, working directly with the design team and manufacturing vendor. The candidate will design, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve challenges related to product development, from concept to production, including root‑cause analysis, supplier collaboration, and design improvements. They will also maintain and update drawings and Bills of Material and provide test support.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design systems and integrate multiple components using SolidWorks from initial concept to production launch.
Generate and provide analysis of FEA studies in SolidWorks.
Generate and analyze drawings from parts/assemblies in accordance with ASME Y14.100 and MIL‑STD‑31000.
Assist in production problem‑solving by interfacing with the manufacturing team to find creative solutions.
Communicate and collaborate with team members and represent the company with customers and suppliers.
Required Education & Experience
Education: 4‑year Mechanical Engineering degree with 5+ years of hands‑on experience.
Education: 2‑year technical college degree or military experience with 10+ years of mechanical and design/drawing experience.
Technical Skills
Experience designing mechanical systems and power generation and distribution systems.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem solving, and technical documentation/communication.
SolidWorks and 2D CAD and mechanical design experience are mandatory; everything else is negotiable.
Personal Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem‑solving abilities.
Must be eligible to receive U.S. Security Clearance.
Must have ability and some flexibility to travel domestically and internationally – up to 20%.
Salary Based on education and experience.
