Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all facility systems within a fast-paced, multi-phase distribution and supply chain operation. This role oversees maintenance activities for packaging equipment, material handling equipment (MHE), conveyance systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and general facility infrastructure.
The Maintenance Manager leads a team of technicians to support uninterrupted distribution center operations through preventive maintenance, rapid response to equipment failures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong experience with food and beverage-related packaging equipment, conveyance systems, and a hands‑on leadership approach focused on coaching, mentoring, training, and safety compliance is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective repairs and improvements
Supervise, coach, and develop hourly maintenance associates
Prioritize, schedule, and monitor daily maintenance tasks
Ensure facility systems meet reliability standards and comply with regulatory requirements
Develop and support training programs for maintenance staff
Coordinate planned outages and facility improvement projects
Inspect and repair mechanical, electrical, and power systems for safety and functionality
Maintain accurate service records and maintenance documentation within CMMS systems
Manage spare and replacement parts inventory and related documentation
Perform general facility and building maintenance repairs as needed
Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, GMP standards, and internal safety policies
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Perform hands‑on repair work on various types of equipment
Participate in installation and modification of new and existing equipment
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years of experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic packaging or distribution equipment in a warehouse, logistics, or co‑packing environment
Experience working in fast‑paced, multi‑phase distribution or logistics operations
Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including equipment operating from 24VDC to 480VAC, three‑phase
Experience with equipment such as vertical form fill, case packing equipment, forklifts, conveyors, and related systems
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and equipment drawings
Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment
Ability to safely operate forklifts, lifts, and other material handling devices
Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
Ability to perform physical job requirements, including standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to work at heights of up to 50 feet
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical disciplines
Knowledge of conveyance systems and vendor coordination
Familiarity with OSHA compliance and safety programs
Schedule 1st Shift, with flexibility to support emergencies outside of normal business hours, including weekends as needed.
Travel Less than 10 percent domestic travel.
Compensation $105,000 to $115,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education.
