FUSE Executive Fellowship – Advanced Manufacturing & Workforce Alignment
Recruiting experienced professionals to strengthen partnerships between school districts, employers, and city agencies in Austin, TX, to improve student access to advanced manufacturing technical education pathways.
Fellowship Dates & Compensation Dates:
April 27, 2026 – April 23, 2027
Salary:
$95,000 annual base salary plus health, dental, vision insurance benefits.
Project Overview FUSE is a national nonprofit that places experienced professionals in city and county agencies to advance racial equity and accelerate system change. This fellowship is part of that mission, focusing on expanding access to advanced manufacturing careers for underserved communities in Austin.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis and stakeholder listening tour, engaging school districts, employers, industry bodies, university partners, and community organizations.
Create targeted interventions to increase enrollment in dual‑credit and technical pathways, including partnership models, outreach strategies, and wraparound supports such as transportation and mentorship.
Develop public messaging and outreach materials to reframe the manufacturing sector as high‑tech, purpose‑driven, and aligned with semiconductor, aerospace, and life‑sciences opportunities.
Recommend tools and mechanisms to track enrollment, retention, and outcomes, ensuring ongoing monitoring and responsiveness to student and industry needs.
Produce replicable workforce‑pipeline models that can be applied to other sectors (healthcare, technology, cybersecurity) and define long‑term implementation goals, milestones, and responsible partners.
Project Deliverables
Comprehensive Advanced Manufacturing Pathway Strategy
– targeted recommendations with integrated wraparound support (transportation, mentorship, basic needs). Published by Spring 2027.
Industry Partnerships Framework
– adaptable to other sectors, coordinating City of Austin, school districts, employers, and training providers.
Implementation Resource Package
– outreach and messaging toolkit, including data‑tracking and ROI framework and public messaging assets.
