Production Control Planner

Position Description The
Production Control Planner
will use various tools and knowledge of the manufacturing process to facilitate material availability and material flow through the factory in order to support the plant shipment plan. They will partner with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality to: 1) develop achievable work center schedules; 2) prioritize if constraints are present and 3) reschedule work as needed.
Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and communicate work center schedules.
Manage production orders; starts/release; date changes; order splitting; shortages.
Prioritize work at independent and shared work centers.
Interface with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and QA on issues and rescheduling.
Identify risks to production plan, evaluate the impact and resolve to remove risk.
Drive to root cause of material shortages and production misses and develop countermeasures.
Use EPICOR‑ERP system as a primary tool for planning production.
Maintain MRP master data and processes: lot size, lead time, scrap rate.
Follow first articles from start to finish, monitor innovation/development production.
Document standard work.
Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Actively participate in Safety initiatives.
Physical Requirements
Sitting at desk and working on a computer for extended periods of time.
Frequent standing and walking.
Occasional bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
Unusual Environmental Conditions
Loud machining environment; minimal exposure to aerospace metals, lubricants, and chemicals.
Required PPE
Safety glasses/shields, appropriate manufacturing closed‑toed footwear, hearing protection may be required, or other protective equipment as needed.
Qualifications – Required
US Citizen
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum 5‑8 years production planning experience in Aerospace or similar manufacturing industry.
High level of energy, creative thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Proactive team player with a background in production planning/scheduling and inventory control.
Knowledge and experience of MRP/ERP and SCM in a data‑driven environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong manufacturing and scheduling or materials management experience.
Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP).
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access).
APICS certification (CPIM or CFPIM) a plus.
