Job Description Summary

The Field Engineer will perform preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs on life‑changing medical equipment for various modalities within hospitals or healthcare systems in Kansas City MO and Kansas City KS. This role requires working onsite at customer locations and being available in the Kansas City area.

Job Description Responsibilities

Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting on medical equipment to ensure optimal delivery of healthcare services.

Maintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication, resolution, and proper follow‑up to drive customer satisfaction.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met and documenting all work performed, including parts ordering.

Basic Qualifications

Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, military education, or participation in the formal GE HealthCare Biomedical or Field Engineer Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR high‑school diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of experience servicing electronic equipment.

Valid Driver’s License.

Ability to be available after‑hours and/or work a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship for employment visas will be provided.

Special Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch or squat, kneel or crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.

Also able to reach above and below shoulder level, flex or extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.

Vision abilities may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
