Key Responsibilities Engineering Standards
Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures
Quality / Continuous Improvement
Develop an understanding and comply with the Black & Veatch quality program
Support continuous improvement and change management efforts
Engineering Production
Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work
Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis
Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Project Coordination
Share information with others as requested
Coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership
Client Focus
Focus on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers
May provide support to business development or pursuit activities
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology
Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework and knowledge of Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Previous internship experience
Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides and standards
Insights of industry trends and developing technologies
Fundamental knowledge of construction practices and principles
Skilled in Problem Solving, Written Communication, Informing, and Peer Relationships
Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from either a recognized accredited program in the applicant’s home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any or all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
Salary Range $83,000.00 – $110,068.00 (location specific)
