Traveling Data Center Apprentice Electrician - $140 Daily Per Diem Kidwell is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Mission Critical (Data Center) Apprentice Electrician in the Kansas City Market for three to four months. After that commitment, candidates must be willing to travel to other Data Center locations. This position is open to both experienced apprentices and those new to the trade. For entry‑level apprentices, we have a formal training program that teaches the trade. For experienced apprentices, a dedicated Development Coordinator will help develop your skills as you prepare for your Journeyman’s Exam.

These individuals must be team‑oriented and possess positivity, honesty, and attention to detail. Candidates also need great organizational skills and must be quality communicators. Apprentice Electricians will directly represent Kidwell on job sites and in front of customers and trade partners.

What You’ll Do

Assist Journeyman Electricians with installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.

Earn competitive wages, overtime, and be available to work multiple Saturdays and possible Sundays.

Perform daily responsibilities that include measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit; drilling holes for wiring and pulls.

Conduct electrical metering and troubleshooting.

Gather tools and supplies for work sites.

Install fixtures.

Create and maintain a safe work environment, meeting or exceeding OSHA regulations and project safety requirements.

Assist cabling and special systems teams in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting low‑voltage electronic systems—including nurse call, CCTV, access control, sound systems, and audio‑visual systems.

Opportunities to take on a variety of other tasks based on skill set and interests.

Do You Have What it Takes?

Candidates must possess a current State of Nebraska Electrical Apprentice License (or apply before starting work).

Associate’s degree in electrical technology (or similar field) preferred but not required.

Field experience as a commercial electrical apprentice preferred but not required.

Experience in Mission Critical (Data Center) work or commercial industrial electrical work preferred but not required.

Candidates must have good leadership and people skills, and be able to pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check (One Source 2+ or equivalent level).

Must maintain a valid driver's license.
