Job Summary Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.
Will Make An Impact In The Following Ways
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
Responsibilities
Completes complex internal engine repairs
Performs engine overhauls unassisted
Has a detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
Qualifications Expanded service operations: Have general knowledge of the following: Heavy duty brake systems, wheel end systems, drive train components, and chassis repairs.
Need to have experience with diagnostic service programs such as Insite and be willing to learn new systems.
Cummins Engine Certifications Are Preferred But Not Required.
Prefer to have a Technical school degree or certificate or at least 4 years on the job experience.
Must be willing to work as a Team.
DOT Requirements
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
A current valid license is required for this role
Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This role will be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
Education, Licenses, Certifications Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
