Job Overview The employee in this position performs mixing and injection operations for lens manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Mixes all different types of monomer per the mixing procedure and recipe in preparation for the injection process.
Injects monomer into mold assemblies as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
Follows priority order guidelines.
Maintains tracking accuracy.
Inspects assemblies for injection and film defects.
Follows SOP for loading cure ovens and vats.
Follows SOP for pre‑gel time.
Follows SOP for cleaning injection equipment.
Maintains accurate production reports as required.
May be required to perform other production tasks related to lens manufacturing processes.
Ensures a safe working environment by following all safety requirements while mixing and filling specifically on the 1.67 process.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to respond to an emergency alarm and wear required PPE.
Ability to pass respirator testing.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written company standard operating procedures.
Ability to produce quality work at standard or above quantities.
Ability to detect obvious defects.
Ability to keep a clean working area.
Ability to follow all safety requirements.
Ability to work independently.
Good hand‑eye coordination.
Attention to detail.
Work may require standing, sitting, using hands/fingers, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to hot/cold conditions, solvents and chemical fumes.
Ability to wear protective eyewear and may be required to wear protective gloves, aprons, smocks, boots, and respirator.
Basic computer operating knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
One year’s experience in a production or laboratory environment preferred.
