About The Role Techno is hiring an
Office Engineer
to join a high‑visibility urban infrastructure program focused on enhancing pedestrian accessibility throughout New York City. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful improvements within dense, active streetscapes while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across construction, engineering, and inspection. You will be a central part of project execution—supporting field operations, managing technical documentation, and helping ensure work is delivered safely, accurately, and in alignment with regulatory requirements. This role is well‑suited for someone who enjoys balancing technical detail with coordination, thrives in fast‑moving environments, and takes pride in supporting projects that directly benefit the public.
What You’ll Do
Manage and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across records
Review and process contractor submittals, RFIs, field sketches, and revised design documents
Track construction progress, quantities, and schedule updates to support reporting and forecasting
Assist with cost tracking, change documentation, and basic project controls
Support accessibility compliance efforts throughout construction activities
Document site conditions, field observations, and coordination items in support of the field team
Prepare meeting notes, action items, and follow‑ups from project coordination meetings
Serve as a liaison between construction crews, inspectors, engineers, and project leadership
Provide day‑to‑day technical and administrative support to the Resident Engineer and project management team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting transportation, civil, or infrastructure construction projects
Working knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirements for pedestrian facilities
Experience interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and construction documentation
Familiarity with project management, reporting, and document control platforms
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Clear written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset
Prior experience on New York City public infrastructure projects is strongly preferred
Experience working with or supporting projects for NYC agencies such as NYCDDC is a plus
