currently has an opportunity for a Data Engineer. This position requires a balance of technical skills, teamwork, strong communication and critical thinking. It involves refining and maintaining the data environment for the Therapeutic Nutrition Sales Analytics team and associated field sales segments, and developing tools to assist management and field sales teams in driving results for the business.

What You’ll Do

Continuous upkeep and improvement of the data environment with input from multiple sources, understanding key performance indicators and metrics through cross‑functional engagement, and preparing data efficiently.

Staying abreast of industry/company direction and evaluating options to shape long‑term team strategy; acting as the key contact for internal IT and third‑party data tool vendors.

Delivering timely inputs to sales and other cross‑functional teams; participating as a key member of informal project teams tasked with developing sales reporting, incentive measurement, customer‑facing deliverables and other items as required.

Performing other related tasks as assigned by the manager.

Education And Experience You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Typically requires 4‑6 years of progressive finance, operations, analytics, or IT experience which includes analytics and/or sales support responsibility.

In‑depth knowledge of Azure SQL Server/Synapse – Transact‑SQL (DDL & DML); ability to create tables, views, stored procedures, functions using only SQL scripts.

In‑depth knowledge of SQL Server SELECT (window functions, sub‑selects, recursive relationships, etc.); understanding of performance tuning/indexing, constraints, and data types (varchar, integer, bigint, decimal, real).

Ability to explain data flow from/to a reporting tool such as Tableau or Power BI, e.g., from an Azure Synapse database to an on‑premises Tableau server accessed via a web browser.

Familiarity with Azure Data Factory.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including concise and accurate reporting.

Demonstrates initiative, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Willingness and aptitude to balance day‑to‑day responsibilities and new projects/challenges to help the business and team evolve.

Ability to build interpersonal, professional relationships across internal and field sales teams.

Preferred

Familiarity with Azure Logic Apps, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI.

Fundamental understanding of authentication/authorization concepts (e.g., difference between Windows and SQL Server authentication; concept of row‑level security).

Fundamental cloud concepts: difference between ETL and ELT.

Fundamental data warehousing/data mart concepts.

Understanding and ability to explain the star schema and its importance.

Knowledge of the difference between OLTP and OLAP.
