Position Summary
As the Transportation Supervisor, you will manage day‑to‑day transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supervising and training drivers for the OpCo. You will lead a team of drivers, monitor DOT compliance and fleet performance, and execute strategies to optimize transportation efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
Supervise associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
Assist Transportation/Operations Manager with overall day‑to‑day administration of transportation and delivery functions, including driver payroll calculation, trip log review, expense report review, problem identification and resolution, and driver compliance with DOT and OpCo regulations.
Monitor vehicle safety, safe usage of ramps and handcarts, seat and weight belt use, and safe lifting and product‑handling practices; attend quarterly safety meetings as required.
Coordinate tracking of driver license status, traffic tickets, accidents, and other risk and safety‑related data.
Ensure accurate completion of all delivery and driver‑related paperwork, including invoices, cash receipts, collection register, trip reports, fuel tickets, deposit slips, DOT logs, DVIR, driver qualification files, and accident reporting.
Maintain trucks, tractors, and trailers through detailed post‑trip inspections.
Work with Transportation or Operations Manager to minimize operating expenses and route deliveries efficiently.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills for managing a team and collaborating with stakeholders.
Proficiency in transportation management software and route optimization tools.
Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements for transportation operations.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
Valid driver’s license.
2‑4 years of transportation or related experience, including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations and experience operating computerized fleet management systems.
1+ years of experience leading and supervising a team of 10‑15 drivers.
Schedule
Sunday – Thursday
6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
Compensation $75,000 – $85,000 + Bonus Opportunity
