Job Summary The Network Operations Center Technician II (NOCT) monitors and manages proactive enterprise systems, infrastructure, network, security, and application monitoring. The NOCT II provides daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly SLO/SLA reporting and operates all Geographic Solutions monitoring and operations-based toolsets including SolarWinds® Orion, Zabbix, PureStorage®, Nimble Storage, VMware VirtualCenter, and other point tools.
Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite daily at GSI’s headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, mentor, and evolve enterprise monitoring, alerting, reporting, and analysis tools for SaaS client environments and corporate infrastructure.
Create and resolve support tickets, ensuring incidents are resolved.
Onboard new clients and monitor scheduled jobs in SQL, SFTP files, and SSIS packages.
Respond to alerts and notify internal/external teams to assist in problem resolution.
Assist in conference call setups for outages and initiate swat calls to engage all technical resources.
Collect and assist in Root Cause Analysis documentation for internal and external customers.
Maintain detailed documentation on server specifications, inventory, topology, and physical connectivity.
Triage incidents, determine severity and impact, create problem tickets, and manage through resolution and Impact Statement/Root Cause Analysis.
Shift work and weekends as required.
Requirements
3-5 years of operational experience with proactive monitoring, reporting, and job scheduling systems such as SolarWinds Orion, Zabbix, or related tools.
Experience with TCP/IP, network monitoring, firewalls, load balancers, switching, routing, and network sniffers.
Minimum 3 years in an Enterprise Systems Management Center with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS 10, SQL Server 2019, and Windows/SQL clustering.
Experience monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting SAN solutions (Pure, Compellent, EMC, Nimble).
Ability to troubleshoot web service issues focusing on IIS, application pools, console applications, scripts and web services.
Strong analytical skills, multitasking, and ability to prioritize commitments in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication and mentoring skills.
Team player, self‑starter, and technology enabler to represent the IT Team and Geographic Solutions.
Reliable transportation and availability for 3rd shift work.
Qualifications / Certifications
Associate degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with at least 3 years of similar experience.
Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSE, MCITP, MCDBA) are highly desirable.
Special Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit or stand for long periods, and stay awake during evening and night shifts.
May be assigned various projects and tasks as needed.
