Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Minimum Training and Education Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required Certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, from kneeling positions, bending and twisting at the waist, squatting, pinching, gross motor activities with fingers and hands, firm grasping, fine manipulation, reaching overhead, repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, use of both legs, balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor or 36 in., lifting from 36 in. to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, visual and hearing acuity recommendations, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts and overtime, working in a latex‑safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, and for selected positions, maintaining good olfactory sensory function and qualified for respirator use.
