Key Responsibilities

Maintain center cleanliness and provide positive customer service.

Prepare patients for radiological procedures, protect patients, staff, and self from radiation hazards, and take x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.

Set up and operate radiographic equipment, including implementing infection control procedures, selecting proper ionizing factors, adjusting radiographic controls, positioning patients, and taking specific parts of the body as requested by physicians.

Process film, check x‑rays for clarity, retake when necessary, and distribute images to appropriate medical staff.

Maintain required records including patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports; perform quantity and quality control checks to assure the x‑ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.

Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, determining equipment repairs when needed.

Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments as needed.

Relay physician messages and diagnostic test or lab results to patients.

Inform providers of any abnormal labs or tests.

Maintain infection control by cleaning exam rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits.

Communicate with front staff on patient flow and wait times, recognize patient distress, and take appropriate actions.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to Federal guidelines and regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

1‑year degree in Radiographic Technology.

Current South Carolina license for radiographic technology.

Limited Practice Radiographer–General Certification accepted.

Health Care Provider CPR certification.

Training in OSHA/HIPAA compliance.

Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts and weekends.

Willingness to work at other centers as needed.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to reflect Novant Health’s mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

2‑year degree in Radiographic Technology.

Full practice radiographer certification.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a current South Carolina license holder, possess CPR certification, be OSHA/HIPAA compliant, be willing to work 12‑hour shifts and weekends, and be willing to work at other centers as needed.
