Primary Responsibilities
Maintain center cleanliness and provide positive customer service.
Prepare patients for radiological procedures and protect them from radiation hazards.
Operate x‑ray equipment following established procedures and infection‑control protocols.
Select appropriate ionizing factors and adjust radiographic controls.
Position patients and take x‑rays of specified body parts as requested by physicians.
Process film and check x‑ray images for clarity, retaking when necessary.
Distribute images to appropriate medical staff.
Maintain required records and logs; perform quality‑control checks.
Clean and maintain radiographic equipment; determine necessary repairs.
Answer calls and schedule appointments.
Call patients to relay test results and physician messages.
Inform providers of abnormal labs or tests.
Maintain infection control between patient visits.
Communicate with front staff about patient flow and wait times.
Recognize patient distress and act appropriately.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Federal guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
One‑year degree in Radiographic Technology.
Current South Carolina license for radiographic technology; limited practice radiographer – general certification accepted.
Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
Training in OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts, weekends, and at other centers when needed.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to reflect Novant Health's mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.
Ideal Candidate
Two‑year degree in Radiographic Technology.
Full practice radiographer certification.
