Overall Job Summary The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy to keep shortages at or below store goals and maximize sales by receiving and shipping freight in a timely manner. The role involves customer interaction, supporting selling initiatives, delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, and promoting a safe, productive work environment while adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.

Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:

Greet the Customer.

Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants.

Recommend Product Solutions.

Appreciate the Customer.

Perform a combination of duties during 95% of the day, including:

Process inbound and outbound freight.

Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.

Recover merchandise.

Participate in mandatory freight process.

Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Maintain, recover, stock, and tag assigned work areas including all merchandise displayed outside the store.

Operate cash register/computer according to cash handling procedures.

Ensure a Legendary shopping experience for customers.

Rotate and disposition dated products.

Assemble merchandise.

Operate forklift.

Operate cardboard baler.

Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.

Complete all documentation associated with job duties.

Obtain required licenses or certifications.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required.

Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred.

Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s licence.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Strong reading, writing, and counting skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

Basic computer skills/experience.

Basic math skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.

Working Conditions

Generally indoor work with moderate noise.

Work shifts typically 4‑8+ hours, varying by store.

Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces; lighting and temperature adequate.

Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Adherence to company safety training and guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Non‑sedentary position requiring movement throughout the store and outdoor areas.

Operate forklift and other equipment (e.g., dolly, handtruck, baler, computer).

Forklift and baler requirements do not apply to employees under 18.

Pusher/puller of merchandise up to 2000 pounds with proper equipment.

Occasional lifting or reaching overhead.

Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds.

Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders frequently.

Operate store equipment such as computer and cash register during entire shift.

Read, write, and count accurately for documentation.

Use strong written and verbal communication skills with team members and customers.

Process information/merchandise through the point‑of‑sale system.

Handle contact with birds/poultry.

Successfully complete required training and certification; propane dispensing certification not required for employees under 18.

Travel as required to support district needs.
