Recruitment: CARDIAC CATH TECH, INVASIVE CARDIOLOGY
SGMC Health invites applications for the Cardiac Cath Tech position within our Invasive Cardiology Department.
Job Location Main Campus
Department Invasive Cardiology
Schedule Full Time, Varied Hours/Shift – 10 or 8‑hour shifts.
Position Summary Provides optimum imaging through management of the imaging chain. Assists with maintaining equipment and supplies, functions as scrub assistant during procedures, assists with monitoring and data collection during procedure and post‑procedure, reports data, operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment, assists with patient care, participates in CQI and maintaining a cost‑effective environment, and assists with related aspects of Cardiology.
Responsibilities
Optimize imaging and manage imaging chain.
Maintain equipment and supplies.
Support procedures as scrub assistant.
Assist with monitoring, data collection, and reporting during and after procedures.
Operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
Assist with patient care.
Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (RT‑R) or Registered/Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT or CCVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS).
Minimum 2 years Invasive Vascular Radiography/Cath Lab experience preferred.
Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course within six months of employment.
ACLS certification recommended.
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
Computer proficiency desired.
Working Conditions Requires considerable eye strain, arm motion, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs on occasion), and pushing of equipment. Cool temperature in the Cath Lab. Irregular schedules, potential for call back, high stress levels, possible exposure to communicable diseases, and frequent mental effort.
