Job Title: Cello – Lead Salary Base pay: $21.50/hr – $23.50/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Role Overview This position reports to the Supervisor. It is a non-exempt, full-time regular role on the 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 2:00 AM, Monday‑Friday, occasionally Saturdays/Sundays). No travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the supervisor in troubleshooting, making minor adjustments, and reporting problems with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime.
Maintain manual and/or computerized records of equipment statuses and location of materials.
Adjust plant equipment as needed to optimize quality and production.
Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns.
Provide updates on equipment statuses.
Train new employees on proper safety techniques near production equipment.
>Maintain a clean and safe plant and production area. Notify supervisor of any out‑of‑place objects or items.
Enforce sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
Ensure all equipment is in working order and safe to operate.
Study production schedules and estimate worker‑hour requirements.
Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Maintain accurate times, employee, and production records.
Suggest ideas for improvements in safety, equipment performance, and production methods.
Organize and carry out safety methods and promote a safe work environment.
Analyze and resolve work problems.
Assist workers in solving problems and provide follow‑ups.
Motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Review QTV records per USDA guidelines.
Communicate with other supervisors or departments as needed.
Perform checks as needed to ensure specifications are met.
Direct set‑up of machines and equipment.
Report any malfunctions to maintenance personnel promptly.
Enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) throughout the plant and production areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School/GED Diploma or one to two years of related experience, or a combination of both.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Two to three years’ experience is needed.
Previous work‑related skills and/or knowledge.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents related to operating equipment, safety rules, guidelines, and work orders.
Always wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Punctual with an excellent attendance record.
Cooperate with others.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Good mathematical skills.
Applying common sense.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and regulations.
Competent to train employees, plan, assign, direct, address complaints, and resolve problems.
Communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
Six months to one year of related experience and/or training in a food/manufacturing production facility.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Mechanically inclined.
Forklift certification.
Physical Demands
Environmental exposure to wet and humid conditions.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
Lift, push‑pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and stairs using three‑point contact.
Exposure to hot/humid conditions (≥ 95 °F) and cold temperatures (≤ 34 °F).
Stand for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
Perform repetitive motions.
Hours & Workdays 2nd shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM; Monday‑Friday; occasionally Saturdays/Sundays. Hours may change; overtime and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.
