WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
Ensure accurate reporting, tracking, and reconciliation of all inventories in Red Prairie WMS and JDE systems.
Monitor inventory variances and shrink; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Support production of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging demand by ensuring accurate staging, availability, and system consumption for daily production runs.
Oversee daily cycle counts, monthly inventories, and full physical inventories, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Investigate discrepancies between physical counts and system records; resolve issues quickly and document findings.
Maintain accurate records of adjustments, transfers, returns, repalletizations, and reclassifications.
Supervise, train, and develop the inventory control team, providing daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
Establish clear expectations, hold team accountable, and ensure consistent compliance with SOPs and safety rules.
Coordinate staffing needs, task assignments, priorities, and workload distribution.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
Partner with warehouse operations to improve storage practices, FEFO/FIFO execution, slotting accuracy, and material handling procedures.
Support QA with lot tracking, sample pulls, and rework/relabeling activities as needed.
Work with 3PL partners to ensure aligned processes and accurate inventory flow between sites.
Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
Lead and prepare for internal and external inventory audits.
Address audit findings and drive corrective action plans.
Generate, analyze, and distribute inventory performance reports, including trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Maintain strict compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and food safety regulations.
Perform other assigned duties and/or projects to support business needs.
Required Skills and Abilities

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to coach and develop employees by leveraging company-provided performance metrics.
Self‑motivated and proactive, able to exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
Competent in entering, retrieving, and analyzing data.
Familiarity with company GMPs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.
Working knowledge of relevant business systems, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and WMS/LMS/ERP platforms.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbally.
Minimum Qualifications
High School/GED or 3‑5 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse operations or combination of both education and experience.
Forklift Certification or must be able to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire.
Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with WMS systems such as Red Prairie and JDE; Highly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Experience with FEFO/FIFO inventory rotation.
Able to work cross‑functionally with operations, Quality Assurance, production, finance and upper management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40°F or below); will work in the warehouse building as well as all facilities (indoor and outdoor).
Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3‑point contact on a regular basis when assigned to perform work duties in the Main Shipping area.
Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle scanning objects in one position or in repetitive motion for an extended period of time.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
HOURS & WORKDAYS 1st Shift – Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM; rotating workday/time off schedules, overtime, weekends, and/or holidays may be mandatory based on business and/or department needs.
