Base pay range $300,000.00/yr - $500,000.00/yr

Fund Controller — NYC based hedge fund You’ll take a lead role managing the fund-level accounting, reviewing administrator deliverables, and elevating the quality and efficiency of the firm’s close, reporting, and valuation cycles. This role also oversees the administrator team and plays a key part in system and process enhancements.
Responsibilities
Oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and internal management reporting
Review NAV packages, performance reports, and supporting schedules from the fund administrator, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Coordinate financial statement preparation and assist with investor-level reporting
Partner with external auditors and tax advisors to support year-end work and regulatory filings
Contribute to valuation review processes and monitor portfolio-level metrics
Support upgrades to accounting systems and help design scalable workflows
Coach and develop junior team members, providing day-to-day oversight and guidance
Requirements
8-14 years of hands on Hedge Fund Accounting experience (2+ years of Big4 Audit experience preferred)
Strong understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting
Hands‑on experience reviewing administrator NAVs and fund reporting
Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a lean, fast-moving environment
CPA preferred; experience with Investran, Geneva, or similar systems is a plus
Clear communicator with a leadership mindset and strong attention to detail
Compensation overall compensation will be based on prior experience and performance
$350k-500k commensurate with experience
