We're seeking a Controller to own the financial operations of a privately held services and technology organization. This is a highly hands-on leadership role, responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and partnering closely with executive leadership to drive growth, profitability, and operational discipline.
You will lead the accounting function, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive team.
What You'll Do
Own day-to-day accounting operations, including G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, and financial close. Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk mitigation. Lead and mentor accounting staff through hands-on, in-office leadership. Partner with external CPAs and consultants on audits, tax filings, and GAAP compliance. Oversee invoicing, collections, and contract billing while actively managing A/R cycles. Collaborate with project and department leaders on job costing, margins, and profitability. Support expansion into new states through regulatory research and entity registrations. Manage insurance policies, employee benefits, and related compliance requirements. Build and improve financial systems, controls, policies, and reporting processes. Provide financial analysis, dashboards, and insights to support executive decision-making. What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA strongly preferred). 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a services-based organization. Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and advanced Excel proficiency. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams in person. Strong business acumen and the ability to partner cross-functionally with executives.
