We’re working with a well‑established heavy civil contractor to find a skilled and motivated
Estimator
with a background in large‑scale infrastructure and site development projects. If you thrive in fast‑paced environments and want to take the lead on competitive bids for DOT, municipal, and private‑sector work across Florida—this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for a wide range of heavy civil projects (roadways, utilities, sitework, structures)
Perform detailed quantity take‑offs and cost analyses
Review drawings, specs, and attend pre‑bid/site meetings
Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams to build strong proposals
Present bids to senior leadership and contribute to strategy and reviews
Support cost tracking, pre‑construction planning, and project hand‑off
Assist with change orders, impact assessments, and billing processes
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction (DOT experience a plus)
Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, HeavyJob, AGTEK, Bluebeam (or similar)
Strong understanding of Florida DOT standards and public works processes
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Bonus: Experience with Primavera P6 or CPM scheduling
