Job Description
Dearborn Offset Printing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mailing Operations Specialist to support our high-volume mail production team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining mailing equipment used to prepare printed materials for USPS and courier delivery. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mailing equipment including inkjet addressing systems, tabbers, inserters, and postage meters
Set up and calibrate machines according to job specifications and USPS guidelines
Perform regular quality checks on outgoing mail to ensure accuracy and consistency
Sort, bundle, and prepare mail trays or tubs for USPS submission and/or courier pickup
Work with bindery and production teams to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion
Learn and apply USPS regulations related to mail prep, including presort and labeling standards
Assist with packaging, boxing, and palletizing jobs for outbound shipping
Perform light maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mailing operations, commercial print production, or a related field is required
Strong familiarity with mailing equipment such as inkjet systems, tabbers, inserters, and postage meters
Knowledge of USPS regulations and mail preparation standards
Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on equipment
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling variable data mail and addressing
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Strong organizational and time management skills
Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
