Maintenance Mechanic
Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment used in high-volume direct mail and print operations. This role ensures optimal equipment uptime, safety compliance, and production efficiency across printing, inserting, mailing, and finishing systems.
This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Thursday, 11:30am - 10pm.
Pay Range Masis Professional Group provided pay range: $20.00/hr - $30.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on printing presses, inserters, bindery, and mail-processing equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime
Troubleshoot conveyor systems, feeders, folders, cutters, tabbers, and addressing equipment
Maintain and service facility systems including HVAC, air compressors, and material handling equipment
Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, alignment issues, and potential failures
Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance around production deadlines
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service records
Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and company procedures
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs during production shifts
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred
1-2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, printing, or mailing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems
Experience with printing presses, inserting systems, or automated mail equipment preferred
Ability to read mechanical schematics, manuals, and electrical diagrams
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Skills
PLC troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of offset or digital printing equipment
Familiarity with USPS mail processing requirements
Welding or fabrication experience
Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills
Fast‑paced production facility with multiple shifts
Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and production materials
Requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards
