Your Role As an Attorney in our General Liability practice group, you will play an integral role in the success of our cases, clients, and the firm.
Responsibilities
Legal Research and Writing:
Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other documents under senior guidance.
Case Preparation:
Assist in preparing cases for hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions, ensuring documentation and evidence are organized.
Client Communication:
Maintain communication with clients to provide updates, gather information, and address concerns.
Discovery Management:
Handle document reviews, prepare discovery responses, and assist in interrogatory and deposition processes.
Court Representation:
Appear in court for routine motions, hearings, or minor trials to represent clients, often with senior oversight.
Compliance and Risk Assessment:
Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to execute strategies and meet client objectives.
Billable Hours and Productivity:
Meet assigned billable hour targets through efficient case management and task prioritization.
Professional Development:
Attend continuing legal education (CLE) programs and stay updated on changes in the law and emerging trends.
Commitment to Firm Goals:
Demonstrate dedication to the firm’s mission, values, and growth by contributing to team projects and initiatives.
What You Bring
Experience:
1-5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in civil litigation.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to general liability.
Education:
JD from an accredited school.
Admitted to practice in the State of California.
Personal Qualities:
Discretion in handling confidential information, a strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork.
Skills
Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
