Summary of Duties The HVAC controls Technician, within the Department of Aviation, performs technical maintenance work on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Responsibilities include the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC control systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Installs, programs, and calibrates HVAC control systems.
Repairs and replaces wiring or controls in HVAC systems to restore functionality and efficiency.
Inspects and tests control systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to maintain correct temperature, humidity, pressure, and volume of systems.
Maintains repair or maintenance records.
Assists in developing specifications for instrumentation, controls, and electrical components.
Assists with training others on control systems concepts and procedures.
Performs all other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of computer software and control system applications.
Knowledge of Siemens BACnet DDC Controls, Tridium AX & N4, Trane DDC Controls, and/or HVAC Mechanical Systems.
Knowledge of HVAC control terminology.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
Knowledge of HVAC controls system principles and techniques.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of HVAC maintenance and repairs.
Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC building control systems.
Proficient in Microsoft-based computer systems.
Qualifications
Associate degree in heating and air-conditioning or completion of a technical or vocational course of study in HVAC control systems.
Five (5) years of experience performing maintenance on HVAC control systems.
Must have a valid driver’s license (DL) and convert to state of Georgia within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Requirements (separate from minimum requirements and not required to qualify for the job):
Low Voltage License.
