Sales Account Manager – Factory Automation
Territory:
North Carolina and South Carolina
Our Client is a well-established and rapidly growing global factory automation company seeking a Sales Account Manager to drive revenue growth within key strategic accounts across the Southeast. This role is ideal for a consultative, technically capable sales professional who is comfortable engaging engineers, purchasing, and leadership in complex industrial environments. The position supports a large mechanical component and configurable product portfolio used in automation and assembly applications and plays a key role in identifying customer insights that influence future products, services, and market expansion. This role offers strong autonomy, visibility, and long‑term career growth within a global organization experiencing sustained expansion.
Responsibilities
Own and grow revenue across assigned strategic accounts
Develop and execute account strategies aligned with revenue goals
Manage forecasting, opportunity pipelines, and sales activity using CRM tools
Engage directly with design engineers, buyers, and technical decision‑makers throughout design and purchasing cycles
Present technical products and solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Support customers through specification, design‑in, and procurement phases
Act as a consultative partner by identifying customer challenges, barriers, and growth opportunities
Communicate customer insights to sales leadership and product teams
Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, engineers, and leadership
Maintain strong awareness of competitive products and market dynamics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation sales experience
Experience selling mechanical components into automation or assembly equipment environments
Background selling into automotive, EV, medical device, or semiconductor markets preferred
Proven ability to sell consultatively to engineers and technical stakeholders
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills
Experience using CRM tools to manage pipelines and forecasts
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows‑based tools
