Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in New Stanton, Pennsylvania.

Hourly Pay: $33.96 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter, four times per year
Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
Routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work
Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
Three years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
All other certifications required by location, required
Additional Requirements
Minimum two years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Driving Requirements
This position requires driving Ryder vehicles
Must obtain CDL within six months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Standard vehicle maintenance
Preventive maintenance
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
Replaces defective components as instructed
Works unsupervised on most tasks
Performs facility maintenance duties
Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
Works in compliance with all federal, provincial and corporate guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Demonstrates ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
Completes two of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses required by location fleet mix within 365 days
