Position Overview Immediate hiring of a Permanent Full‑Time Senior Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in New Stanton, Pennsylvania.

Hourly Pay: $33.96 per hour. Certification Bonus:

$100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700. Quarterly Bonus:

up to $500 every quarter. Sign‑On Bonus:

$1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days. Schedule:

Monday – Friday, weekends OFF. Hours:

Second Shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm.

We welcome a Maintenance Repair Mechanic who works on heavy‑duty vehicles.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or relevant technical certifications (preferred)

Basic mechanical tools and skills required

Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work

Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)

Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A – preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

All other certifications as required by location (required)

Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background and motor‑vehicle check

Knowledge of basic computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse, etc.)

Ability to drive Ryder vehicles as part of the role

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance, preventive maintenance, and complex mechanical and electronic diagnostics using diagnostic computers

Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks and support facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks accordingly

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation

Comply with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents as needed

Provide other support duties to support operations, including service island support

Complete required SBTIII training within 180 days and OEM online diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days
