Responsibilities
Work closely with Production Engineering, Design Engineering and Mass Production Engineers on the improvement of quality systems development and engineering solutions for customer complaints and countermeasures (lead chronic defect meetings / Lead mass production daily quality issues).
Daily Gemba Walks – Perform quality audits / walk through on floor to ensure quality standards and standard conditions are met.
Maintain all related databases, tracking systems, and schedules for Customer Quality issues, audits, process error proofing, and quality assurance. Review engineer work to ensure accuracy.
Advanced ability to complete and analyze/evaluate appropriate documentation as required, including tools such as Layered Process audits (LPA), General Procedures (GP), Process Flow Diagrams, PDCA, 8Ds, 5Ps, Mind Maps, etc. Evaluate engineer work as required.
Cultivate mutually beneficial business relationships between NAM and our Customers.
Management of Internal Findings – manage all unit specific internal findings with countermeasures to continuously improve quality.
Support of Customer Complaints – Be the lead contact for the customer quality engineers in the investigation and countermeasure as assigned in core tool meetings.
System Improvements – Find and administer IATF quality system improvement. (Quality Techs and Auditors).
Support Techs and Auditors Supervision – The engineer will support the shift techs and auditors and will be working on a daily basis in a support role as it relates to customer concerns.
Maintain a positive influence by behaving in a manner that enhances Nifco’s success.
PFMEA / Bully Testing Meeting
Review lessons learned at Meeting with core team reviewing existing lines.
Support initial PFMEA / CP / PQS.
Ability to interpret results and provide counter measures.
Customer / Internal Document Management (PPAP)
Manage Part Control Plan, PFMEA and Product Quality Standard.
Ensure part containment procedures are followed.
Champion in the resolution of customer complaints / quality issues.
KPI – Maintain and interpret results of KPIs and provide action plan to improve metrics.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent.
Required Skills
Minimum of 4 years of previous experience and Injection Molding.
Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and effectively participate and contribute to team projects.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
Must be able to travel offsite on overnight trips (Up to 30%).
Plastic injection molding experience a requirement.
Experience in common business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.
Have good people/interpersonal skills.
