such as ICU, SMH Venice Campus, Pediatrics, and Cornell.
Job Summary:
As a member of the
Ultimate Float Team , you will provide professional nursing care in accordance with
ANA and AACN Standards of Professional Practice
and
SMHCS policies
(policy 126.054). This role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Patient Population & Key Responsibilities
Orthopedic & Trauma Care
– Fractures, orthopedic abnormalities requiring surgical intervention, traction application, splinting, and skeletal immobilization.
Neurological Care
– Acute Traumatic Brain Injuries with potential ventriculostomy management.
Cardiac Care
– Titration of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, etc.).

Qualifications & Requirements
Current Florida RN License
BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Red Cross
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Must complete by end of orientation
NIH Stroke Scale Certification – Must complete by end of orientation
Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test
BSN required within 5 years of hire (for ASN candidates)
Basic proficiency in Microsoft and other commonly used healthcare applications
Schedule & Shift Availability
12‑hour shifts, 3 days per week
Day Shift: Positions available!
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Night Shift: Positions available!
7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
FT, PT, and PRN positions available
Salary Details Hourly rate is determined by years of work experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within the organization. Minimum rate starts at $32.50, with a maximum of $51.10. Holding an approved certification qualifies for certification pay of $1.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
BSN required within 5 years of hire for new hires after 2012 (policy 126.045).
Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Successful completion of the Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in a nursing specialty area.
Preferred Education BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing
Required License and Certifications
BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: Florida Registered Nurse License
